About the SVG Optimizer

The Freemium.Tools SVG optimiser strips editor junk, comments and excess precision from SVG files exported by Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape, often halving the file size without changing how the icon looks.

Design tools export SVGs stuffed with metadata, editor namespaces and coordinates carried to ten decimal places. None of it is drawn, and all of it is downloaded by every visitor.

Paste the markup or drop the file to see a live preview of the cleaned version alongside the exact size saved, then copy it into your component or download the smaller file.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop or paste your SVG. Straight from Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape or a design system export.
  2. 2Choose what to strip. Comments, editor metadata, long decimals and class attributes.
  3. 3Check the preview and copy. Confirm the icon still renders, then copy or download the optimised file.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller do SVGs usually get?

Figma and Illustrator exports commonly shrink 30-60%, mostly from removing editor metadata and rounding coordinates that were never that precise.

Will optimising break my animation or styling?

Keep the class-attribute option switched off if your CSS or JavaScript targets classes inside the SVG. Everything else removed is inert markup.

Is rounding decimals safe?

Yes for normal use — coordinates are rounded to two decimals, which is far finer than a screen pixel at any realistic display size.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Optimisation runs in your browser, so unreleased brand assets and icon sets stay on your machine.
