About the Lorem Ipsum Generator
The Freemium.Tools placeholder text generator creates Lorem ipsum or plain-English filler in paragraphs, sentences, words or list items, with optional HTML tags.
Designs need realistic text volume before the real copy exists. Placeholder text keeps attention on layout, spacing and hierarchy instead of wording.
Choose classic Latin when you want the words ignored, or plain-English filler when a client needs to read something familiar without mistaking it for final copy.
How to use it
- 1Choose the unit. Paragraphs, sentences, words or list items.
- 2Set the amount. Slide to the number you need.
- 3Copy or download. Copy as plain text, or wrap it in HTML tags ready to paste into a template.
Frequently asked questions
What is Lorem ipsum?
It is scrambled Latin derived from a first-century BC text by Cicero, used as placeholder copy since the 1500s because it looks like natural language without being readable.
Why not just type 'test test test'?
Repeated words create unnatural word lengths and line breaks, so the layout you approve will not match how real sentences flow.
Can I get placeholder text with HTML tags?
Yes. Turn on HTML output and paragraphs are wrapped in p tags and lists in ul and li tags, ready to paste into a template.
Is it safe to ship a page with Lorem ipsum?
No. Search engines index it and users notice it, so always replace placeholder text before launch.
