About the Barcode Generator

The Freemium.Tools barcode generator creates Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 39, ITF-14, MSI, Codabar and Pharmacode barcodes and downloads them as print-ready PNG or SVG.

Retail, warehousing and libraries each expect a particular symbology, and a barcode printed in the wrong format simply will not scan at the till.

Choose the type, enter the code, and see it render live with validation messages when the value does not match the format's rules — EAN-13 needs digits, ITF-14 needs an even digit count. Download SVG for printing at any size without blurring.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose the barcode type. Code 128 for general use, EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail, ITF-14 for cartons.
  2. 2Enter your code. An example valid for the chosen type is shown as a guide.
  3. 3Download. PNG for screens and documents, SVG for labels and print.

Frequently asked questions

Which barcode type should I use?

Code 128 suits internal SKUs and logistics because it encodes letters and numbers. Retail products sold in shops need EAN-13 in most of the world, or UPC-A in the United States.

Why is my EAN-13 code rejected?

EAN-13 accepts 12 digits (the check digit is calculated) or 13 digits with a correct check digit. Letters and spaces are not allowed.

Can I use these barcodes commercially?

Yes, the images are yours. For products sold in retail you still need a genuine GS1-issued number — this tool renders the number, it does not allocate it.

PNG or SVG for printing?

SVG. It is vector, so it stays razor-sharp at any label size; PNG is exported at triple resolution for documents and screens.
